Prince was a songwriter, guitarist, dancer and showman all in one. A Prince tribute is a funk-and-rock party for a crowd that loves musicianship and style.
About our Prince tribute
Our Prince tribute celebrates the music of Prince Rogers Nelson, widely regarded as one of the greatest all-round entertainers of all time.
Show formats and set lengths
Buzz's Prince tribute runs as two 45-minute sets or one 60-minute show, with a Christmas show available. Splitting the show into two 45-minute halves keeps energy high across a long night. The 60-minute option is best for a shorter event or a single big moment. Background music can fill the gaps between sets. There is a Christmas version for December dates.
The songs guests will expect
A good Prince tribute builds the set around the best-known songs from the 80s and 90s:
- Purple Rain
- Kiss
- 1999
- When Doves Cry
- Raspberry Beret
- Let's Go Crazy
Set lists vary, so ask to see the current one before you book.
What stands out about this show
- Buzz has supported Rod Stewart and Rag'n'Bone Man at the Isle of Wight Festival.
- He has won two National Tribute Music Awards for his Prince show.
- The set includes Purple Rain, Kiss, 1999 and Raspberry Beret, with live guitar.

Space and set-up
Ask us what equipment comes with the act and what the venue needs to provide. With dancers, the performance area must be clear and non-slip, without tables pushed up to the edge. A live piano show needs a level, stable surface and step-free access for the instrument. Most performers need about an hour to set up and sound check before guests arrive in the room.
Where a Prince tribute works best
- 80s and funk nights: A natural headliner.
- 50th and 60th birthdays: 1999 and Purple Rain were the soundtrack of their youth.
- Music venues: A crowd that appreciates musicianship.
- New Year's Eve: 1999 is an obvious countdown song.
What to sort out first
- Is it a festival or club-style night where a guitar-led show will shine?
- Do you want Purple Rain saved for the finale?
- Is the performance area indoors, outdoors or under a marquee?
- Is there a song you can't do without, or one to avoid?
Your answers help the act arrive prepared.
Making it a themed night
Tell guests in advance, or keep the Prince tribute as a surprise. Matching décor and playlists before the show build anticipation, and a favourite song saved for the finale gives the night a big ending.
Acts that pair well
For a longer night or a themed event, consider pairing with Michael Jackson Tribute, George Michael Tribute or Bowie Tribute.
