Comedians for Charity Events

Where comedy fits in a fundraiser

The usual pattern is meal, comedian, then auction or raffle. The comedian raises the mood just before the money is asked for. Some comics can also help with the auction, which is worth asking about.

Briefing the comedian

• Tell them about the charity and the cause, so they can mention it naturally.
• Name the key people in the room: sponsors, organisers and the auctioneer.
• Say whether the audience is mixed or a sportsmen's dinner, as tone matters.

Jack Ryan lists charity dinners among his events, and Billy Pearce has decades of experience with large audiences.

Keeping costs in check

Tell us your budget and the charity at the start. We'll suggest acts who fit, and every quote is the full price, with no hidden agency booking fees on top.
